Grace Cheng
Founder & CEO of Agewhale
Grace Cheng is the founder and CEO of Agewhale. Raised by her grandparents, Grace has always had a strong connection to older people. She cared for her grandparents in their final years and experienced firsthand the many challenges faced by family caregivers. Inspired by her experience, she founded Agewhale to empower families to care for their older loved ones.
Grace graduated from the University of Hong Kong with a Bachelor's degree in Social Sciences. She has obtained certificates in advanced care planning, palliative care, dementia caregiving, mental health first aid, and support for caregivers. Grace also volunteers extensively with eldercare and end-of-life nonprofits to deepen her understanding of the needs of older persons and caregivers. Her community commitments include serving as the Fellowship Advisor of Resolve Foundation and the Enterprise Advisor of CLAP@JC. She spoke at the TEDxTinHauWomen 2023 event on the importance of caregiver preparation.
Before founding Agewhale, Grace was the General Manager of the Fair Employment Agency, a social enterprise to reinvent migrant domestic worker recruitment industry standards. She led a team of over 20 staff members and steered the organization through the unprecedented challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic. Under her leadership, the organization has won multiple awards for providing excellent recruitment services for close to 8,000 employers and migrant domestic workers.
